QbCheck

QbCheck is a regulated, standalone MDR + UKCA medical device (Class II) used to provide an objective measurement of the three core ADHD symptom domains: attention, impulsivity, and motor activity. It can be completed either remotely at home or in clinic, offering flexible access for both adults and children.

QbCheck uses a computerbased continuous performance task combined with motiontracking technology with 1 mm precision, capturing hyperactivity in a way that cannot be achieved through subjective reporting alone.

As part of the Qbtech ecosystem, QbCheck integrates with QbClinic, a clinician-facing portal used to manage test assignments, monitor progress, and review normreferenced reports. Clinicians can assign QbCheck alongside validated rating scales as a single combined workflow, streamlining preassessment processes.

QbCheck is backed by over 20 years of research, used in 18+ countries, and is supported by more than 10,000 clinicians worldwide.

Core Functions

Objective measurement of ADHD symptoms

  • Quantifies inattention, impulsivity and motor activity.

  • Uses motiontracking with 1 mm accuracy.

  • Results benchmarked against age and sexmatched norm groups and ADHD clinical groups.

Remote or inclinic flexibility

  • Fully webbased.

  • Can be completed at home for patients on a waitlist or at risk, school, workplace or clinic.

  • Supports digital-first and hybrid ADHD models.

Clinician workflow integration (via QbClinic)

  • Patient management, multisite clinic support, test tracking.

  • Autogenerated structured reports.

  • Ability to assign QbCheck + subjective rating scales as one integrated task list.

Supports diagnosis, treatment optimisation & monitoring

  • QbCheck can be completed in the patient’s home setting. This enables services to choose whether to invite patients into clinic or to free up clinic space and clinician time to gather objective data on core symptoms as part of pre-assessment remotely.

  • The QbCheck report (adjunct with other clinical information) can be used to prioritise patients who are most at risk.

  • Used in diagnostic pathways as objective evidence to complement interviews and rating scales.

  • QbCheck can be used in a pathway to add objective data to the pre-assessment information. Improving waiting list and risk management and potentially freeing up clinic space.

  • Also used in medication titration to monitor response and optimise treatment.

Regulatory Compliance

QbCheck has completed all required approvals:

  • MDR + UKCA regulated medical device

  • ISO 13485 & ISO 27001 accredited

  • Registered on MHRA PARD

  • Fully compliant with NHS IG requirements including DPIA, DTAC and cyber security

Price Model and Cost

QbCheck is straightforward to add onto existing QbTest agreements. NHS test fee prices are available, valid for 12 months, with automatic renewal when credits run out. Purchase for tests can be charged monthly in areas (like QbTest contract) or annual upfront, we can accommodate budget processes to enable a compliant procurement process.

Clinical Validation and Evidence

Evidence Base

  • Strong NICEendorsed evidence exists for QbTest (predecessor and labbased version).

  • QbCheck is equivalent to QbTest and the test construct is identical.

  • QbCheck reliability, validity and clinical utility studies already published and widely used internationally.

  • Head-to-head comparison studies to demonstrate that QbCheck completed in the home setting is highly convergent with sensitivity and specificity of QbTest completed in clinic.

  • Over 10,000 clinicians currently use Qbtech products

  • Qbtech technology is used in 75% of NHS trusts already and many NHS trusts are adding QbCheck to their ADHD pathway to further improve their service.

Pathway Impact

  • Narrative evidence of significant capacity gains

  • Reduced clinician admin burden through autoscoring and integrated workflows.

  • Enables earlier determination of “diagnostic complexity,” reducing time spent in clinic on unsuitable referrals.

Integration and Compatibility

  • QbCheck is standalone but integrates fully with QbClinic for clinical workflow management.

  • Implementation and Customer Success teams support onboarding; dropin sessions and clinical guidance available.

Service User Design / Involvement

QbCheck supports equitable access by:

  • Allowing remote completion, minimising travel barriers and supporting those unable to attend clinic.

  • Patients diagnosed with ADHD and neurodevelopmental conditions have been involved in the user interface to help ensure the instructions and flow is as easy to understand and engage with as possible to help improve accessibility.

  • Providing an objective, standardised ADHD measurement tool that reduces clinician variation and potential bias.

Qbtech is actively collaborating with livedexperience panels and the national ADHD Taskforce to refine user experience.
