Tend VR-MBI is a virtual-reality adaptation of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), a NICE-recommended psychological intervention. It is designed specifically for people experiencing depression, anxiety, and low moods.
Tend VR-MBI adapts core concepts of MBCT into eight 40-minute fully immersive VR sessions, delivered via consumer-grade headsets in NHS, VCSE, community or home settings. A companion mobile app provides between-session self-management tools.
Studies have shown that virtual reality can address ADHD-specific barriers to psychological therapy including attentional dysregulation, task-initiation difficulties, executive-function limitations, and poor engagement with imagination-based mindfulness, by using immersive, calming VR environments with structured narration and interactive tasks.
Users report Tend VR as “the first intervention that actually made a positive difference” and that having the headset on “really helped” with concentration.
